“Tools, guns, and cars… You get what you pay for.” Finishing is no different.

The pricing on our work is an excellent value, however if your primary concern is price, we’ll tell you right now you can find lots of other places willing to do the “same” job for less money; in a lot of cases a lot less money.  We strive to provide exceptional quality finishes at reasonable prices, and we are by no means in a race to the bottom.  We charge what it takes to provide our clients with top-quality products and top-quality service.

We specialize in custom finishing of auto, motorcycle, and bicycle parts.  If you’re getting less expensive quotes from companies that primarily powder coat picnic tables, remind yourself that you’re not riding a picnic table.  Compare apples to apples, and price out the same parts from other finishing greats, like Spectrum Powderworks (bicycles) and Sumax (Harley-Davidsons).  While we understand that not every piece requires a show-quality finish, it is important for you to understand that we are unwilling to take shortcuts.  When we hand a part over to a client, we’ve essentially signed it, and we can’t put our signature on a poor finish.

Also be aware that a lot of companies provide one quote for finishing, then they tack on extra charges for stripping, blasting, masking, materials, and so forth. We don’t play that game; our prices include everything necessary to do the job right.

We know how to provide the most bang for your buck, so if you initially tell us what you want and our quote is out of your budget, we’ll be happy to offer consultation and suggest alternatives to reduce cost while maintaining the overall look you desire.  We also itemize quotes to assist you in your decision.

We do not provide “menu” pricing.  Every piece is unique.  Every client has unique priorities.  For you to get exactly what you want in terms of quality, speed, and economy, we prefer to discuss your parts with you directly, and we need to see the parts.  Complicated parts are more expensive than simple or small parts.  Solid colors are less expensive than double-coated candies.  Show-quality parts are more expensive than track-use or industrial parts.  We need to know what’s critical to you.

On-line price estimates are provided as a courtesy and are non-binding.  These menu prices reflect “typical” parts that are in good condition, fully disassembled, and clean.  Prices include chemical stripping of existing finish, detergent cleaning, media blasting, minor repairs (repairs that do not involve welding, body solder/leading, or body filler), phosphate conversion coating for certain applications, masking of threads/bores/bosses/mating surfaces, and an in-stock single-stage/single-color coating.

Prices do not include stripping damaged or failing chrome.  Pitted, chipped, peeling or otherwise damaged chrome must be seen in person for assessment and quotation.  See Question & Answer section for more information regarding chrome.

Prices may be reduced for larger quantities or volume, new or exceptionally clean parts, raw metal parts, etc.

Special order powders typically add $30 to overall order. Charges for powder manufacturer reformulation or custom formulation matching to existing paint vary and are dictated by powder manufacturer.

Special order ceramics typically add $50 to overall order.

Additional fees apply for removal of hardware requiring removal prior to finishing. Examples of items requiring disassembly comprise bearings, races, heat-sensitive bushings (Delrin, plastic, oil-impregnated bronze), head tube cups (bicycle/motorcycle), bottom bracket cups (bicycle), and motor alignment dowels/studs/pins.  While we do our best to remove parts and keep them intact, we will not be responsible for damage to those items resulting from removal.  If it can be removed, it should be removed.  Ask us about exceptions to this rule.
